2005 Vocations Poster Contest Rules

Vocations Are Everybody's Business: Priests, Brothers, and Nuns. They Need Us, We Need Them.

bulletContest is open to all C.C.D. and Catholic school students from first through fourth grades. The posters will be judged in two grade groupings:

Group I First and Second graders
Group II Third and Fourth graders

bulletThe Theme: Religious Life - Vocations in the Catholic Church
bulletDeadline for submission of entries to Pavia Council is Sunday, January 9th, 2005.
bulletJudging is scheduled for January 10th, 2005. Entries will be judged on originality and compliance with the contest theme. Please try to ensure that the poster drawings are the child's creative work. No cut ups or pasted pictures will be allowed.
bulletEach poster submitted is to be identified ON THE BACK of the poster with the name of the artist, address, school, grade and age. No Social Security number required this year.
bulletAll valid entries submitted to Pavia Council will be on exhibit in the Parish Center after the Masses on January 15th and 16th, 2005.
bulletPavia Council will award prizes for first, second, and third place winner in each grouping.
bulletThe first place winner in each grouping will be submitted to the Connecticut State Council Contest and will be judged in the same four grade groupings.
bulletOne winner will be selected from each age group at the state level. A $50 gift certificate will be awarded to the first place winner in each of the four age groups.
bulletAll submissions to State Council become the property of the Connecticut State Council Knights of Columbus.

Completed posters can be returned to the Religious Education office or will be collected after masses on January 8th & 9th, 2005.

2005 Substance Abuse Awareness Poster Contest Rules

bulletContest is open to all C.C.D. and Catholic school students from fifth through eighth grades. The posters will be judged in two grade groupings:

Group III Fifth and Sixth graders
Group IV Seventh and Eighth graders

bulletPoster must reflect either the theme of Alcohol Awareness and Abuse or Drug Awareness and Abuse.
bulletEach poster should be the original work (including concept, layout, slogan, and any visual images) of a single person.
bulletPoster must be 11x17 inches in size. If pastels, chalk or charcoal are used, the poster must be laminated or covered in clear plastic. Posters may be in color or black and white. No cut ups or pasted pictures will be allowed.
bulletDeadline for submission of entries to Pavia Council is Sunday, January 9th, 2005.
bulletJudging is scheduled for January 10th, 2005. Entries will be judged on:

Slogan - How clearly is the theme presented?
Visuals - How well do the visuals convey the message?
Overall Impact - How effective was the poster in capturing your attention and causing you to reflect on the topic?
