Dedication: Memorial to the Unborn
The Knights of Columbus champions life from conception to natural death. The Order
supports the Church in its work to defend human life, conducts education programs for its
members and the public, provides financial assistance to national and local right-to-life
groups, and prays for the protection of life.
On Sunday, April 26, 1998, The Most Reverend Edward M. Egan, Bishop of Bridgeport (and
Brother Knight) honored Msgr. Edward Karl and Pavia Council by dedicating a memorial to
the unborn in the courtyard of St. Mary Church. The memorial was donated by Pavia
Council to commemorate the 40th anniversary of Msgr. Karl's ordination.
